The Fabulous Friends class is composed of students with Down Syndrome. The purpose of our program is to foster growth in all areas of development: spiritually, cognitively, physically, and emotionally.
Each student participates in a homeroom class where they go to morning devotionals, Bible, PE, lunch, music, library, Idea Lab and Spanish. We also take part in grade level plays. All academics are taught in the Fabulous Friends classroom. Field trips help us reinforce our units of study and work on our socialization skills.
Each March, our school celebrates World Down Syndrome Day. Each year, we raise more than $1,000 for our local Down Syndrome organization.
The Fabulous Friends Art Show is held each spring. Each of our students creates 12 to 15 art projects that are displayed for our whole school to see. It's a special day for our students.
Psalm 139:19 says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." At First Presbyterian Day School, we believe that! We celebrate the precious lives that God has entrusted to us.
