Bible Classes

Since the school was founded in 1965, spiritual growth has always been a high priority at First Presbyterian Day School. Each day, teachers share daily devotionals and prayer time with students. Scripture memory and personal application of Biblical truths are part of daily instruction.

Students in grades first through fifth attend Bible class every day (except on Chapel day). Classes are taught by one of our four Bible teachers, and Bible grades are taken in third through sixth grades. Sixth graders are taught Bible as a rotation class each day during second semester.

Grades first through fifth use the Walking with God and His People curriculum. Our sixth grade teacher uses a variety of resources including the Character Quest series by Lifeway.

FPDS also hosts a monthly Bible Study during lunch for fifth and sixth grade boys and girls separately. The study is led by Mr. Brian Smith and Mrs. Emily Oswalt, along with staff from First Presbyterian Church.

While FPDS is utilizing off-campus learning during the COVID-19 quarantine, we encourage you to participate in family devotions written by our chaplain and Bible teachers:
