Carol graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She came to FPDS in 2010 after teaching for 16 years, the majority spent with third and fourth grades in the Clinton Public School District. In addition, she previously served as district coordinator for Hinds County Schools and on the Principal Advisory Committee as well as a lead teacher in the Clinton schools. She has served FPDS as a fourth grade teacher, educational technology integrationist and currently the technology instructor for grades first through sixth. She was born and raised in Jackson and attends Morrison Heights Baptist Church. She and her husband, Trey, reside in Clinton and have two daughters, Ashley Brister Herrington and Anna Grace Brister. They are also the proud grandparents of their first grandbaby, Hallie Rose. “As both a teacher and former parent at FPDS, I have seen first-hand the amazing spiritual and academic commitment this school offers its students and parents,” she says. Her hobbies include cooking, photography, decorating and crafting. “Teaching at First Pres. is a wonderful experience. Not only is it a great feeling to share God’s Word with my students, but I have gained a family of Godly men and women whose desire is to support one another while growing in God’s kingdom.”
