Cindy is a native of Jackson and a resident of Madison. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Millsaps College. Cindy’s previous experience includes kindergarten and second grade teacher at Jackson Public Schools, substitute and Homework Express teacher at a local independent school, many years at a local preschool, and Bricks 4 Kidz summer camp instructor. She and her husband, Tip, have two children, Catherine Ann Wilks Powell and Alex. They attend First Presbyterian Church. Cindy enjoys cooking, playing the piano, reading, traveling to historical places, and working in the garden. “I am very humbled to be an important part in these student’s lives at FPDS while teaching in an environment where a student’s Christian and educational growth is enhanced through biblical teachings,” she says.
