Ella grew up in Blountville, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in elementary curriculum and instruction. Previously, she taught third grade in both Dallas, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee. Ella and her husband, Virgil, have four children, Anderson, Mary Harr, Reeve, and Boyd. They attend FPDS, and Virgil is an alum as well. “It is a privilege to serve the FPDS community, not only as a parent, but a teacher also. It is a true joy to experience Christ here daily,” she says. “FPDS is truly one of the best places I have seen. It is a combination of the teachers, administrators, academics, families, and, most importantly, it is a place that grows the hearts of children through prayer and the word of God.” Ella enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, sewing, stationery, shopping, exercising, and reading.
