When Emily accepted the calling of being a teacher, she says there is nowhere else she wanted to be than here at FPDS. So, when she graduated from Mississippi College, God opened a door for her to begin working full time at the Day School the very next month. She has served FPDS ever since, first as a teacher and now as assistant director of instruction and curriculum. Her first role at FPDS was as a student – she is a graduate of the school –and she now has the perspective of a parent as well. “At FPDS, neither spirituality nor academics are compromised,” she says. “Both areas are of utmost importance and priority at the Day School.” Emily and her husband, Matt, have three sons, and they attend Grace City Church. She enjoys watching HGTV, walking, swimming, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. “I love that everyone here at the Day School views their job as a calling and mission field,” she says. “Our mission is truly lived out by all through planting seeds of Christlikeness in the hearts of children, striving for academic excellence and preparing students for future service in their homes, jobs and community.”
