First Presbyterian Day School

The Day School welcomed Mindy to our staff in the fall of 2013. A native of Florence, Miss., Mindy graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She went on to receive a Masters in Elementary Education from Belhaven University and a Masters in Dyslexia Therapy from Mississippi College. During her career, Mindy has taught fourth and sixth grades and served as both an Intervention Specialist and Licensed Dyslexia Therapist. In 2012, Mindy received her national certification from the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) as a Certified Academic Language Therapist. In 2013, Mindy was appointed by House Education Chairman John Moore to serve on the Reading Panel for the State of Mississippi. Her professional associations include the International Dyslexia Association, the Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Association, and ALTA. Mindy and her husband, Eddie, have two children, Landry and Lleyton. They attend Pinelake Church. Mindy says, "It is an honor and blessing to work at the Day School and partner with families in helping their children achieve academically and grow spiritually."
