Shannon grew up in the Mississippi Delta, is originally from Greenwood, and has lived in Madison for more than 10 years. She attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree in art. Through courses at Delta State University, she later received elementary endorsement in grades kindergarten through eighth. Previously, she taught preschool and elementary art at a local independent school for four years while teaching private art lessons. Before joining FPDS, she taught in the four-year-old program at a local preschool along with private art lessons. Shannon has worked at several summer camp sessions and has directed many art camps. She and her husband, Bob, have two daughters, Whitley and Hudson. They attend United Methodist Church in Madison. Shannon enjoys spending time with family, the beach, and painting and creating art. “I am truly overjoyed and thrilled to be a part of a Christian community that helps mold the minds and hearts of young children,” she says.
