We are grateful that you are interested in learning more about FPDS for your child! First Presbyterian Day School has continued to flourish since we first opened our doors in 1965. We specialize in elementary education, intentionally focusing on infants-6th grade. We proudly are located in the same spot where we were founded: right along North State Street in Belhaven, easily accessible to our tri-county area.
Our children are growing up in a culture of constant activities and pressures to perform. Competition has become the bedrock of childhood - busy has become the new successful. At FPDS, we ensure that your child gets to be a child. Our curriculum focuses on learning through play in our early elementary grades. Our upper elementary curriculum instills times of stillness & quiet, as well as play and creativity. All curriculum is taught through a biblical lens, building a firm foundation in both academia and faith. Our goal is to expose our children to activities and knowledge that expand their horizons, but not in a way that hurries them through childhood. FPDS students are prepared for success both educationally and spiritually following the culmination of their 6th grade year at schools across our neighborhoods and beyond.
