Under the Oaks

Mondays through Fridays - 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Directors: Ann Chestnut (rising K4 & K5) and Jennifer Morgan (rising 1st-6th) 

You must be enrolled at FPDS for the 2024-2025 school year to register for Under the Oaks.

Students should bring their own lunches, drinks, and snacks daily. Rising K4 and K5 will bring a nap mat. Rising 1st - 6th will bring reading materials.

Registration closes April 14th. A $60 per student registration fee will be charged via FACTS soon after the close of registration.

Fees

FULL-TIME: $1,200 billed in 2 installments of $600 each, due May 31 and July 1

ONE MONTH: $650 due first day of month attending

WEEKLY: $325 per week due May 31
*Weeks must be chosen in advance.

DROP-IN: $65 per day (no half or partial days) due the day the child attends. You must register by April 14th and pay the $60 registration fee if you plan to drop in this summer.

REGISTRATION FEE: $60 per student due upon registration for all students attending full-time, one month, weekly, or drop-in.

All tuition and fees will be charged directly to your FACTS account.

FAQ’s

Can I drop in?

YES! We love drop-ins! Please let us know the day before if your child will be coming by emailing achestnut@fpds.org (rising K4 & K5) or jmorgan@fpds.org (1st-6th). We want to make sure we have our supplies ready and let you know if they need to bring anything special. Drop-ins are not allowed during the mornings of June 3-7 due to FPC VBS. If you would like for your child to come that week, please sign them up for VBS.

What is VBS?

First Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School is held from 9 a.m. - noon the week of June 3-7. All Under the Oaks campers participate in this fun event. You must be registered for the full summer, 1st session, or second week of Under the Oaks to attend with us. Please notify us at achestnut@fpds.org or jmorgan@fpds.org if your child is registered for Under the Oaks but will NOT be attending the dates of VBS. Our Under the Oaks staff will sign your child up for VBS; no need for you to register via the church. 

What should my child bring and wear?

Rising K4 and K5 students should bring a nap mat for daily rest time. All students bring lunch, water bottles and two snacks daily. Campers wear any play clothes - no uniforms required. Tennis shoes are best for running and playing, but any shoes are acceptable. Our team will notify you if you need to send anything special with your child (dress up days, water days, etc.)

When can I drop off and pick up? 

Totally up to you! Anytime between 7:30am to 6:00pm. We will have our staff at the school entrances for sign in and out. 

How do I pay?

You will be billed the first of the month, and tuition will be drafted from your FACTS account. If you are coming only for the day, please bring a check or cash for $65 the morning that you attend. Checks are made payable to FPDS with Under the Oaks in the memo line. 

What does a typical day look like?

We begin each day with free play and devotion time in our classrooms. Campers go to the playground or gym, followed by fun theme-week activities, including crafts, projects, storytime, etc. After lunch, our rising K4 and K5 students have rest time and inside play, and we end the day outside or in the gym and with free play in the classrooms. Wednesdays are Water Wednesdays, and we have Movie Mornings on Fridays. Every week is fun and unique to our theme, so check our calendar for more information! 

*It is expected that every student attending Under the Oaks Summer Program will follow the FPDS school procedures and standards of behavior.
