Mrs. Kim Duhs Announced Dean of Kindergarten (K3-K5)
Mrs. Kim Duhs joined the Day School in 1998 and has served as a Kindergarten teacher for over 20 years. Prior to FPDS, Mrs. Duhs served as a special education teacher, then spent 4 years as a preschool teacher, leading to her role as Preschool Director at Lakeside Presbyterian Preschool.
Mrs. Duhs' obvious love for children and early childhood is exemplified in the many children she has taught and nurtured over the past 30+ years, and we are overjoyed that she has accepted the position beginning summer of 2023 as Dean of Kindergarten (K3-K5).
When tasked with finding a new Dean of Kindergarten (K3-K5), we knew Mrs. Duhs would fill this role with excitement and deep love for our school and students. When asked about why FPDS is important, she responded with a clear and confident message.
"We put the Lord first in every aspect of our school. A job at FPDS is a calling for each of us. The Lord has placed me here to make sure I share the gospel with each child I teach and make sure they know how to live their faith and convey Christ's love to others by example. These children are entrusted to us not only by their parents, but by God".
"Working with teachers and parents in making sure our children are receiving the best education in all aspects, spiritually and academically, is what I am looking most forward to in this position. I want to help provide a nurturing environment, a safe-haven for these little ones. I am looking forward to getting to know new families and can't wait to meet and serve siblings of the children I have already taught. I accepted this position because of my experiences at FPDS. I wholeheartedly believe in the changes and enhancements our school has made (and continues to make) to improve the education we provide, while never straying from our mission. I look forward to continuing to serve in that mission!"
Mrs. Duhs has already made a huge impact on our school, and we cannot wait to see her thrive as Dean of Kindergarten (K3-K5). She is excited for her new adventure, knowing that she has the entire school as her support system.
"Countless people have made an impact on my life at FPDS. I know the Lord has gone before me in placing certain people in my path at the exact time I needed them. When you are surrounded by Christian co-workers, parents, and grandparents, you are surrounded by prayer warriors, Godly examples, and wise counselors to help you with any aspect of day-to-day struggles or needs."
Please welcome me in congratulating Mrs. Duhs on this new role. We are blessed beyond measure at FPDS to continue our mission of planting seeds of Christlikeness in the hearts of children, pursuing academic excellence, and preparing students for future service in God’s Kingdom in their homes, churches, and professions.
