Awards Day
Awards given included:
2nd-6th Grade Accelerated Reader accomplishments, including a new school record set by 4th-grader Patrick Tabor for 1,737 points.
2nd Grade Catechism recognition for students who recited the 150 Children’s Catechism questions in groups of five, along with two students who recited the 150 questions in one sitting: Boyd Payne and Millie Ruth Tisdale.
5th and 6th Grade Highest Average (Subject Area Awards): Math, Science, and English/Language Arts-Eloise Ketchum; Bible/History-Evelyn Luckett; English/Language Arts-Claire Selman; Math-Hastings Boyd; and Bible/History, English/Language Arts, and Science-Mary Gayle Wright.
5th and 6th Grade Leadership, recognizing those students who intentionally invest in their peers and the staff to improve the culture of the school: Hudson Herring, Benny Moss, Rachael Quarshie, Harrison Smith, Hastings Boyd, Avery Warf, Woody Wise, Peyton Woods, and Mary Gayle Wright.
5th and 6th Grade Christian Character, recognizing those students who are rooted in the Gospel and serve others by modeling the fruits of the Spirit: Allen Arterberry, Charlotte Dukes, Caroline Lowry, Lydia McCormick, Mary Harr Payne, and Lydian Peipon.
5th and 6th Grade Courtesy, recognizing those students who exhibit manners, courtesy, thoughtfulness, and kindness to peers and staff: Neely Boyd, Aidan Dunbar, Jackson Hall, Caleb Herrin, Sydney Smith, Calyn Macke, Coleman Recore, and Cecilia Turnage.
The Campbell G. Dale Award was presented by Jill and David Dale to Benny Moss. Each year, this award recognizes a 5th grade student that exemplifies the qualities and characteristics that Campbell demonstrated during his short life including: empathy, compassion, trust, faith, true to oneself, and a love for others and God. The student is also challenged to continue exhibiting those qualities during their 6th grade year at FPDS and in the years to come.
