Mrs. Melinda Lytton - FPDS October Teacher of the Month
We are thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Melinda Lytton as our October Teacher of the Month. With over 30 years of teaching experience, including 28 at FPDS, Mrs. Lytton’s passion for education and dedication to her students is truly inspiring. She exemplifies excellence in both the classroom and our school community.
Mrs. Lytton is no stranger to the classroom, having taught in a variety of settings—public, private, and Christian schools—across different states. Her journey began with a degree from Belhaven College, and over the years, she has honed her craft, creating a nurturing environment where students can grow not only academically but also spiritually. For fourth graders at FPDS, Mrs. Lytton is more than just a teacher; she’s a guide, encouraging them to develop into responsible, independent individuals ready for the challenges that lie ahead!
Mrs. Lytton’s approach to teaching is rooted in her deep faith and her belief in the power of prayer. She partners with parents in praying for each child, supporting their growth not just in academics but also in their personal walk with Christ. Her husband, Bill, and their family, including three sons and eight grandchildren, share her love for learning and faith. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Lytton enjoys gardening, exercising, and spending time with her family, often visiting her children and grandchildren spread across Jackson, Collierville, and Charlotte.
Mrs. O’Neal noted, “Mrs. Lytton's dedication to FPDS and her students is evident in everything she does. She consistently goes above and beyond to support each student’s growth, both academically and personally. Her commitment strengthens the FPDS community and leaves a lasting impact on the lives of everyone she touches.”
Mr. Smith added, “Melinda Lytton’s passion for teaching and for the mission of FPDS is clear to all who meet her. Her students are challenged, encouraged, and loved. She is a model of a Christian teacher, equipping children to discover and use their God-given gifts for His glory.”
As we celebrate Mrs. Lytton’s contributions this month, we also look forward to the many ways she will continue to shape the lives of her students. Her heart for her students and her dedication to their spiritual and academic development make her an invaluable part of the FPDS family.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Melinda Lytton, our October Teacher of the Month, and in praying for a continued fruitful and blessed year for her and her students!
